Congratulations on finally finishing high school/college and becoming an independent adult!
Chances are, you’re most likely feeling lost with what you want to do next. This is completely
normal. It can definitely be overwhelming thinking about the future and what you want to do
long term, especially at such a young age of 18/19. You’re probably dreading going back into
the same sort of educational environment for another few years. Luckily, there is a solution for
this- interning abroad!
There are so many benefits of interning abroad. Here’s a few;
- Meet new people of diverse backgrounds & profiles
- Explore a new country
- A chance to travel and make memories
- Experience a different way of life and new cultures
- Develop new skills
- Become independent
- An opportunity to boost your CV
- Become exposed to a new environment
- In a survey of over 300 employers, 45% said that high school internships will “very
likely” or “completely likely” turn into a full-time job at their company.
If you’re really unsure of what sort of internship to go for, we would recommend interning in a
start-up company, rather than a corporate established company. Why? Startups usually offer a
range of different roles which may not necessarily be part of your designated role. This is
definitely a way to boost your creative skills which will be helpful in future roles, and also look
great on your CV. If you’re unsure of what sort of job you want to end up in, a startup role will
assist you in gaining skills and insight into multiple positions which will help you narrow it down
